Thoughts on First Three Games of the 2008 NBA Finals posted on 06/12/2008

Hello Everyone I realize this rather late but here are my thoughts on the first three games of this series.

GAME ONE

For the Men in Green

1) Kevin Garnett, in his first NBA Finals run, was clearly the player of the game

(forgetting about his nine straight second-half misses) by dropping 24 on the Lakers while collecting 13 boards while providing a stifling defensive presence through out the game. In the fourth quarter he chased down a sloppy Ray Allen pass to the half-court line which kept a Beantown possession alive and a Sam Cassell jumper was the result. In the game’s final two minutes he then threw down a vicious follow-up jam off a James Posey long-range misfire (which was another possession he kept alive by getting his hands on a Rajon Rondo free throw clank) and knocking down two throws to seal Team Green’s triumph.

Discussing Giants divisonal playoff victory over Dallas on Jan. 13 posted on 01/14/2008

The Giants played arguably one of the gutsiest games in the franchise’s history by taking down the NFC’s best team- the Dallas Cowboys- in their divisional playoff match-up (Sunday, Jan. 13) at Texas Stadium with a 21-17 victory.

Here are some thoughts from the game:

*Eli Manning played another solid game today completing 12-of-18 passes for 163 yards and connecting for two touchdowns with Amani Toomer. The Giants most important touchdown of the game came in the final minute of the first half as Eli drove the team down field in thirty six seconds (which were highlighted by two Steve Smith catches and the aid of a Jacques Reeves facemask penalty) for a touchdown which give the team a big morale boost going into the half with the game tied at 14. Like many in the media have stated already (but I’ll say it again) Eli has grown a great deal since the end of the regular season and has continued to show maturity and toughness in the past two weeks and any doubts of coming through in big games, should have been erased with today’s performance.
